Company History
Rockwood commenced operation in 1986 as the wholly-owned real estate division of Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited (TSE-AGE, NYSE-AEG). The company acquired commercial and industrial properties, raw land, developed the Rockwood Industrial Park in Scarborough and commenced planning of a large residential lakefront development in Newcastle, Ontario.

The entire real estate portfolio of Rockwood was sold in 1990 when Agnico divested its real estate assets and re-focused on its core mining business.
The remaining assets were assumed by Joel Snitman, the general manager, and carried on as a fee management company. Today Rockwood manages a mixed portfolio of residential, commercial and industrial properties throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The present company was incorporated in Ontario in 1991.
